One of the nicest surprises one can have is to suddenly hear from someone you have not seen for (in this case) nearly twenty years. That is what happened to me this morning. Paul was a student of mine in my first year of teaching college (1970-71), and then later became a colleague. Fortunately he is considerably younger than I am, so my first thought wasn’t “thank goodness he’s still alive;” however, he is t now retiring as well. Yikes!

It’s interesting, and rather nice, that there will soon be another writer in the family. My cousin (a nice’s daughter) is just putting the finishing touches to her first novel Altered – Revelations of the Evolved. It is the first of a planned trilogy aimed at young adults. I understand that Orillia and Ohio are having a ‘heat wave’ with 40sF and 50sF, respectively. That’s good because I’m still paying my heating bill in Orillia. It’s another 70s day in Florida, which is extraordinary for this time of year. In fact, it has been and an extraordinarily warm winter. Extraordinary of not, I’ll take it.

The writing is coming along fine; albeit slowly. I’m at page 62/189, but I’m happy with the outcome. It is just better all the way round.

Until next time.
